The Curry TreeMurraya koenigii or Bergera koenigii, is a medium tropical and sub-tropical, semi deciduous tree in the family Rutaceae ( which includes Rue, Citrus, Wampi and White sapote), native to Asia. The plant is also sometimes called Sweet Neem, though M. Koenigii is in a different family to neem, Azadirachta Indica, which is in the related family Meliaceae.

The tree is a very pretty addition in home gardens or in a pot on the verandah. Easy to grow, it likes full to part sun, so suits most areas.

Its leaves, known as Curry Leaves, are used in many dishes India and used through out Asia.

There is mixed information on the berries as to whether or not they are edible or poisonous. It is also important to note most information points us to the fact that the berry's skin and flesh are edible, but the large seeds embedded within the flesh are toxic and should not be consumed.  Please do your own research before consuming the seeds.

As for the Curry leaves, we cook with them all the time and are absolutely delicious.
